Daniela's Transformation Journey
My Family

My immediate family today comprises my son Chucky and his wife Martha, my five dogs: Ebony, Cleo, Nicki, Annie, and George, and my eight cats: Smokey, Katie, Carson, Rudolph, Nellie, Max, Louis, and Valentine. My extended family consists of my sister-in-law here in town, a bunch of people in New Jersey, my mother, and aunt, and two brothers, one with family(sister-in-law, niece and nephew), in Germany.

In the future, I will post some pictures on this page.

My family has expanded in some areas, and 'shrunk' in others. I am boarding a cat named Minette until her folks get back into a home where they can have cats. Minette is a beautiful sweetheart, and I'm actually going to be sad to see her go. I am also boarding Chewbacca, a white Arabian horse, a lover and sweetheart. I am working on actually owning him, hoping to hear soon that the current owner will actually sign him over to me. He is so much part of my family now, it's wonderful. He loves the dogs and they love him. Ebony is ready to marry him, George loves licking noses with him, Annie goes with me to feed him twice a day, making sure there's no wildlife lurching in the bushes around the barn. We have settled in to a harmonious routine together, and I never thought I'd be a dog person, and now I have five, and I never thought I'd ever have a horse. My husband was the dog and horse person. He did convert me to the dogs, but I'm sure he's very happy to see that now there's also a horse with me!
The relationship with one of my brothers has become estranged as we grew apart, me heading off into self-improvement, healing, and giving, he giving up most all of himself, including his name, and now being a person I'm afraid is completely different from my beloved brother, a person I don't know anymore. That's very sad, but we all have a right to make our choices, and I don't have to agree with his! I did, however, rekindle contact with an aunt of mine, my father's cousin. She's a very dignified sweet 85 year old lady and we have a wonderful relationship. I love her dearly and am so happy to have this contact with the last living relative of my father's side. We have a lot of fun together when I visit her and we keep up contact via letters and telephone calls. She lives in Dusseldorf, Germany, just a stone-throw from the River Rhine.

Chewbacca loves the new Chrysler Town&Country - it can haul lots of horse food!

It's July 2006. My animal family has shrunk some - Minette went home with her own family, and Nicki the Akita, Smokey the Russian Blue cat, and Katie the 'old lady' cat died of old age. So there's still Chewbacca, the horse, Ebony, Cleo, Annie, and George, the dogs, and Carson, Rudolph, Nellie, Louis, Max, and Valentine, the cats. My son Chucky and daughter-in-law live on their own now, so it's just me and the furry children around here. And the hummingbirds...

Nellie is my 'therapy kitty'. She was given to me just weeks after Chuck's death at just barely eight weeks old. She didn't even know how to drink on her own yet, and I had to give her water with a syringe. Now she's my water kitty who comes running anytime water is running or dripping somewhere. Nellie will always have a very special place in my heart!

Nellie is also well-read!

She's also an awesome vocalist! 1
Nellie is very fashion-conscious and always loves a good bag...

Nicki was a most awesome companion. She was a pure-bred Akita who lived to the very ripe age of 14 years old. She died September of 2005.

There's still more to come - so stay tuned......
